عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ:
كَانَ الْمَقَامُ إِلَى جَنْبِ الْبَيْتِ، وَكَانُوا يَخَافُونَ عَلَيْهِ غَلَبَةَ السُّيُولِ، وَكَانُوا يَطُوفُونَ خَلْفَهُ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ لِلْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ السَّهْمِيِّ: " هَلْ تَدْرِي أَيْنَ كَانَ مَوْضِعُهُ الْأَوَّلُ ؟ " قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَدَّرْتُ مَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْحَجَرِ الْأَسْوَدِ، وَمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْبَابِ، وَمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ زَمْزَمَ، وَمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الرُّكْنِ عِنْدَ الْحَجَرِ قَالَ: " فَأَيْنَ مِقْدَارُهُ ؟ " قَالَ: عِنْدِي قَالَ: " تَأْتِي بِمِقْدَارِهِ " فَجَاءَ بِمِقْدَارِهِ، فَوَضَعَهُ مَوْضِعَهُ الْآنَ
Translation
✧ The Station was beside the House, and they feared floods would overpower it, and they used to circumambulate behind it. Umar said to al-Muttalib b. Abi Wada'ah al-Sahmi: 'Do you know where its original place was?' He said: 'Yes, I estimated the distance between it and the Black Stone, between it and the door, between it and Zamzam, and between it and the corner near the Stone.' He said: 'So where is its measure?' He said: 'With me.' He said: 'Bring its measure.' He brought its measure, and he placed it in its current place.
