Translation
✧ A bedouin came to Abu Salamah b. Abd al-Rahman and said: I had a wet dream before dawn and did not find water, so I performed tayammum and prayed. When morning came I found water; should I wash? Abu Salamah said: If you wish, wash, and if you wish, do not wash. Abu Harmalah said: I said to Ibn al-Musayyab: Do you not hear what this man is saying? And I told him his statement. Ibn al-Musayyab said: Did he do that? I said: Yes. He said: He threw pebbles toward him, and said: Consider—if one of you does not know what a fatwa is, why does he give fatwas to people? O you, you purified yourself for your prayer, so when you find water, washing is obligatory upon you.
