عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي يُوسُفُ بْنُ مَاهَكَ:
أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، خَرَجَ فَرَأَى رَكْبًا فَقَالَ: " مَنِ الرَّكْبُ ؟ " فَقَالَ: قَالُوا: حَاجِّينَ قَالَ: " مَا أَنْهَزَكُمْ غَيْرُهُ ؟ " ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، قَالُوا: لَا، قَالَ: لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الرَّكْبُ بِمَنْ أَنَاخُوا لَقَرَّتْ أَعْيُنُهُمْ بِالْفَضْلِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ عُمَرَ بِيَدِهِ، مَا رَفَعَتْ نَاقَةٌ خُفَّهَا، وَلَا وَضَعَتْهُ، إِلَّا رَفَعَ اللهُ لَهُ دَرَجَةً، وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً، وَكَتَبَ لَهُ بِهَا حَسَنَةً "
Translation
✧ Umar b. al-Khattab went out and saw a caravan. He said, "Who is the caravan?" They said, "Pilgrims." He said, "Did nothing else move you?" three times. They said, "No." He said, "If the caravan knew to whom they have made their camels kneel, their eyes would be delighted with grace after forgiveness. By the One in whose hand is Umar's soul, no camel raises its hoof or sets it down except that Allah raises him a degree, removes a sin from him, and records a good deed for him."
