✧ One Who Steps on Dry or Wet Impurity

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:

قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ وَطِئْتُ خِرَاءً يَابِسًا، أَغْسِلُ بَطْنَ قَدَمِي ؟ قَالَ: لَا، قُلْتُ: فَكَفِّي وَوَجْهِي أَصَابَ شَيْءٌ مِنْ ذَلِكَ خِرَاءً يَابِسًا ؟ قَالَ: لَا، لَعَمْرِي إِنَّ الرِّيحَ إِذَا صَعِدْنَا مَعَ الْجِنَازَةِ لَتُسَفِّي الْخِرَاءَ الْيَابِسَ عَلَى وُجُوهِنَا، فَمَا نَتَوَضَّأُ وَلَا نَغْسِلُ وُجُوهَنَا وَلَا شَيْئًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ

Translation

✧ I said to Ata: What do you think if I step on dry dung, should I wash the sole of my foot? He said: No. I said: What about my palm and face if any of that dry dung touches them? He said: No, by my life, when we went up with a funeral procession, the wind would blow dry dung onto our faces, and we did not perform wudu or wash our faces or anything of that.
