✧ The Slaughter of the Animal While It Is Moving

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُرَّةَ، مَوْلَى عَقِيلٍ
أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ شَاةً لَهُمْ تَمُوتُ فَذَبَحَهَا فَتَحَرَّكَتْ، قَالَ: فَسَأَلْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ الْمَيْتَةَ لَتَتَحَرَّكُ، قَالَ: وَسَأَلَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، فَقَالَ: " كُلْهَا إِذَا طَرَفَتْ عَيْنُهَا أَوْ تَحَرَّكَتْ قَائِمَةٌ مِنْ قِوَائِمِهَا
Translation
✧ He found a sheep of theirs dying, so he slaughtered it and it moved. He said: "I asked Zayd b. Thabit, and he said: 'Indeed, a dead animal can move.' He said: 'And he asked Abu Hurayrah, and he said: "Eat it if its eye blinks or a leg from its legs moves.""
