✧ The Sunnah of Slaughter

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي الْوَضِينُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ،
أَنَّ جَزَّارًا فَتَحَ بَابًا عَلَى شَاةٍ لِيَذْبَحَهَا، فَانْفَلَتَتْ مِنْهُ حَتَّى أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، وَاتَّبَعَهَا فَأَخَذَهَا يَسْحَبُهَا بِرِجْلِهَا، فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: اصْبِرِي لِأَمْرِ اللهِ، وَأَنْتَ يَا جَزَّارُ فَسُقْهَا إِلَى الْمَوْتِ سَوْقًا رَفِيقًا
Translation
✧ A butcher opened a gate for a sheep in order to slaughter it, but it escaped from him and came to the Prophet ﷺ. He followed it and grabbed it, dragging it by its leg. The Prophet ﷺ said to it: 'Be patient for the command of Allah.' And to the butcher: 'As for you, drive it to death with a gentle driving.'
