✧ The Sunnah of Slaughter

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ،
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَأَى رَجُلًا أَضْجَعَ شَاةً فَوَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ عَلَى عُنُقِهَا، وَهُوَ يُحِدُّ شَفْرَتَهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: وَيْلَكَ ! أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تُمِيتَهَا مَوْتَاتٍ، هَلَّا أَحْدَدْتَ شَفْرَتَكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُضْجِعَهَا
Translation
✧ The Prophet ﷺ saw a man lay down a sheep, placed his foot on its neck, and began sharpening his blade. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'Woe to you! Do you want to cause it multiple deaths? Why didn't you sharpen your blade before laying it down?'
