✧ The Slaughter of the People of the Book

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ،
أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، " وَكَلَ بِقَوْمٍ مِنَ النَّصَارَى قَوْمًا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ إِذَا ذَبَحُوا أَنْ يُسَمُّوا، وَلَا يَتْرُكُوهُمْ أَنْ يُهِلُّوا
Translation
✧ 'Umar b. 'Abd al-'Aziz appointed some Muslims over some Christians so that when they slaughtered, they would pronounce the name of God, and they would not leave them to invoke other than God.
