✧ The Slaughter of the Woman, the Boy, and the Bedouin

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، جَاءَ الْجَزَّارِينَ، فَقَالَ: " مَنْ يَذْبَحُ لَكُمْ ؟ " فَقَالُوا: هَذَا الْعِلْجُ، فَسَأَلَهُ عُمَرُ... فَلَمْ يُحْسِنْهَا فَجَلَدَهُ عُمَرُ جَلَدَاتٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: لَا يَذْبَحْ لَكُمْ إِلَّا مَنْ عَقَلَ الصَّلَاةَ
Translation
✧ Umar b. al-Khattab came to the butchers and said: Who slaughters for you? They said: This non-Arab (ilj). Umar asked him... but he did not do it properly, so Umar gave him several lashes, then said: None should slaughter for you except one who understands the prayer.
