عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ:
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ مِنْ تِهَامَةَ فَأَصَابَ الْقَوْمُ إِبِلًا، وَغَنَمًا فَعَجِلُوا بِهَا فَأَغْلَوْا بِهَا فِي الْقُدُورِ، فَانْتَهَى إِلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَأَمَرَهُمْ بِالْقُدُورِ فَكُفِئَتْ، فَعَدَلَ عَشْرًا مِنَ الْغَنَمِ بِجَزُورٍ قَالَ: وَنَدَّ مِنْهَا بَعِيرٌ فَرَمَاهُ رَجُلٌ بِسَهْمٍ فَحَبَسَهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنَّ لِهَذِهِ الْإِبِلِ أَوَابِدَ كَأَوَابِدِ الْوَحْشِ فَمَا غَلَبَكُمْ مِنْهَا فَاصْنَعُوا بِهِ هَكَذَا "، قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ رَافِعُ بْنُ خَدِيجٍ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نَخَافُ أَنْ نَلْقَى الْعَدُوَّ - أَوْ يُرْجَى أَنْ نَلْقَى الْعَدُوَّ - غَدًا، وَلَيْسَ مَعَنَا مُدًى، فَنَذْبَحُ بِالْقَصَبِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " مَا أَنْهَرَ الدَّمَ، وَذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللهِ فَكُلُوا لَيْسَ السِّنَّ، وَالظُّفُرَ، وَسَأُحَدِّثُهُ، أَمَّا السِّنُّ فَعَظْمٌ، وَأَمَّا الظُّفُرُ فَمُدَى الْحَبَشَةِ "، قَالَ رِفَاعَةُ: ثُمَّ إِنَّ نَاضِحًا تَرَدَّى فِي بِئْرٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَذُكِّيَ مِنْ قِبَلِ شَاكِلَتِهِ - يَعْنِي خَاصِرَتَهُ - فَأَخَذَ مِنْهُ عُمَرُ عُشَيْرًا بِدِرْهَمٍ
Translation
✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Dhu al-Hulayfah in Tihamah, and the people captured camels and sheep, and they hastened with them and boiled them in pots. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to them and ordered the pots to be overturned, so they were overturned. He equated ten sheep with a slaughtered camel. He said: A camel bolted from them, and a man shot it with an arrow and stopped it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: These camels have wild traits like those of wild game. If any of them overwhelms you, do with it like this. He said: Then Rafi' b. Khadij came to him and said: O Messenger of Allah, we fear we may meet the enemy—or it is expected we will meet the enemy—tomorrow, and we have no knives, so may we slaughter with reeds? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whatever lets the blood flow and the name of Allah is mentioned, eat it, except the tooth and the nail. I will tell you about them: as for the tooth, it is bone, and as for the nail, it is the knife of the Abyssinians." Rifa'ah said: Then a watering camel fell into a well in Madinah, and it was slaughtered from its flank—meaning its side—and 'Umar took from it a tenth for a dirham.
