عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَاصِمُ بْنُ أَبِي النَّجُودِ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ:
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَارٍ فَنَزَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ ﴿وَالْمُرْسَلاتِ عُرْفًا ﴾فَأَخَذْتُهَا مِنْ فِيهِ، وَإِنَّ فَاهُ لَرَطْبٌ بِهَا فَمَا أَدْرِي أَبِهَا تُخْتَمُ ﴿فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴾أَوْ ﴿وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لا يَرْكَعُونَ ﴾قَالَ: وَأَفْلَتَتْ حَيَّةٌ فِي جُحْرٍ، فَقَالَ: " وُقِيتُمْ شَرَّهَا، وَوُقِيَتْ شَرَّكُمْ
Translation
✧ We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ in a cave when it was revealed to him: “By those sent forth in succession” (Q 77:1). I took it from his mouth, and his mouth was moist with it. I do not know whether it ended with: “Then in what statement after it will they believe?” (Q 77:50) or “And when it is said to them, ‘Bow,’ they do not bow” (Q 77:48). He said: A snake escaped into a hole, so he said: “You have been protected from its evil, and it has been protected from your evil.”
