✧ The concession for the muhrim to eat game

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
خَرَجْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ زَمَنَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ فَأَحْرَمَ أَصْحَابُهُ، وَلَمْ أُحْرِمْ، قَالَ: فَرَأَيْتُ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ، فَحَمَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَاصْطَدْتُهُ، فَذَكَرْتُ شَأْنَهُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَذَكَرْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ أَحْرَمْتُ، وَأَنِّي إِنَّمَا اصْطَدْتُهُ لَكَ " فَأَمَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ بِالْأَكْلِ، وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ مِنْهُ حِينَ أَخْبَرْتُهُ أَنِّي اصْطَدْتُهُ لَهُ
Translation
✧ I went out with the Messenger of God ﷺ at the time of al-Hudaybiyya. His companions entered ihram, but I did not. I saw a wild donkey, so I attacked it and hunted it. I mentioned its affair to the Messenger of God ﷺ and mentioned that I had not entered ihram and that I had only hunted it for you. So he ordered his companions to eat, but he did not eat from it when I told him that I had hunted it for him.
