عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ،
أَنَّ عَمَّارَ بْنَ يَاسِرٍ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ وَمَعَهُ عَائِشَةُ، فَهَلَكَ عِقْدُهَا فَاحْتَبَسَ النَّاسُ فِي ابْتِغَائِهِ حَتَّى أَصْبَحُوا وَلَيْسَ مَعَهُمْ مَاءٌ، فَنَزَلَ التَّيَمُّمُ، قَالَ عَمَّارٌ: فَقَامُوا فَمَسَحُوا فَضَرَبُوا بِأَيْدِيهِمْ فَمَسَحُوا بِهَا وُجُوهَهُمْ، ثُمَّ عَادُوا فَضَرَبُوا بِأَيْدِيهِمْ ثَانِيَةً، فَمَسَحُوا بِهَا أَيْدِيَهُمْ إِلَى الْإِبِطَيْنِ. أَوْ قَالَ: إِلَى الْمَنَاكِبِ
Translation
✧ Ammar b. Yasir used to narrate that he was with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, and Aisha was with him. Her necklace broke, and the people were delayed searching for it until morning came while they had no water with them. Then the verse of tayammum was revealed. Ammar said: They arose and wiped, striking their hands and wiping their faces with them; then they returned and struck their hands a second time, and wiped their hands with them up to the armpits - or he said: up to the shoulders.
