✧ Whichever expiations he wishes, he may expiate

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ:

مَا ﴿أَوْ عَدْلُ ذَلِكَ صِيَامًا ﴾قَالَ: إِنْ أَصَابَ شَاةً، قُوِّمَتِ الشَّاةُ طَعَامًا، ثُمَّ جُعِلَ مَكَانَ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ مُدٌّ يَصُومُهُ

Translation

✧ What is “or the equivalent of that in fasting” (5:95)? He said: If he kills a mountain goat, the goat is valued in food, then in place of each day a mudd is set, which he fasts.
