✧ The sacrifices

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، وَالثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ:

إِنِّي لَأَدَعُ الْأَضْحَى، وَإِنِّي لَمُوسِرٌ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَرَى جِيرَانِي أَنَّهُ حَتْمٌ عَلَيَّ

Translation

✧ I certainly leave off the sacrifice, even though I am well-off, for fear that my neighbors may think it is obligatory upon me.
