✧ The virtue of the ten days, and the standing at 'Arafah in the cities

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ:
أَوَّلُ مَنْ عَرَّفَ بِأَرْضِنَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ كَانَ يَتَّعِدُ عَشِيَّةَ عَرَفَةَ، فَيَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ الْبَقَرَةَ آيَةً آيَةً، وَكَانَ مَثَجًّا عَالِمًا
Translation
✧ The first to hold the standing in our land was Ibn Abbas. He would prepare on the evening of Arafah and recite the Quran, al-Baqarah, verse by verse, and he was a flowing spring of knowledge.
