✧ The woman's perfume, then she goes out from her house

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَعْدَةَ،

أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ خَرَجَتِ امْرَأَةٌ عَلَى عَهْدِهِ مُتَطَيِّبَةً، فَوَجَدَ رِيحَهَا، فَعَلَاهَا بِالدِّرَّةِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " تَخْرُجْنَ مُتَطَيِّبَاتٍ، فَيَجِدُ الرِّجَالُ رِيحَكُنَّ، وَإِنَّمَا قُلُوبُ الرِّجَالِ عِنْدَ أُنُوفِهِمُ، اخْرُجْنَ تَفِلَاتٍ

Translation

✧ A woman went out perfumed during the time of 'Umar b. al-Khattab. He smelled her scent and struck her with the whip, then said: 'You go out perfumed, so men smell your scent. The hearts of men are only at their noses. Go out unperfumed.'
