عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ جَاءَ السُّوقَ يَنْظُرُ قَطُّ، قَالَ: " أَكْرَهُ ذَلِكَ إِنَّمَا هُوَ الذِّكْرُ وَالْعِبَادَةُ "، قُلْتُ: يَكْتُبُ فِي مُجَاوَرِهِ إِلَى أَمِيرٍ يَطْلُبُ الدُّنْيَا أَوْ إِلَى غُلَامٍ لَهُ قَالَ: " لَا بَأْسَ بِذَلِكَ
Translation
Chain of narrators
machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Ibn Jurayj, who said:
✧ I said to ʿAṭāʾ: “What do you think—if he goes to the market just to look?” He said: “I dislike that; it is only about remembrance and worship.” I said: “May he write during his retreat to a governor seeking worldly gain, or to a servant of his?” He said: “There is no harm in that.”
