Translation
✧ A woman vowed to observe i'tikaf for a month during the time of Ziyad, and he used to prevent i'tikaf because of the Kharijites. It was interceded for her, but he refused to give her permission. They asked Shurayh, and he said: She should fast and break her fast each day by feeding a poor person—two rites in place of one.
