أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَذْكُرُ أَنَّ أُمَّهُ مَاتَتْ، وَقَدْ كَانَ عَلَيْهَا اعْتِكَافٌ قَالَ: فَبَادَرْتُ إِخْوَتِي إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ: اعْتَكِفْ عَنْهَا وَصُمْ
Translation
✧ I heard Ubayd Allah b. Abd Allah mention that his mother died while she owed an i'tikaf. He said: I rushed with my brothers to Ibn Abbas and asked him. He said: Observe i'tikaf on her behalf and fast.
