✧ Wiping over the sandals

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ظِبْيَانَ الْجَنْبِيِّ قَالَ:
رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا بَالَ قَائِمًا حَتَّى أَرْغَى، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى نَعْلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَخَلَعَ نَعْلَيْهِ فَجَعَلَهُمَا فِي كُمِّهِ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى. قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ: وَلَوْ شِئْتُ أَنْ أُحَدِّثَ أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَسْلَمَ حَدَّثَنِي عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، صَنَعَ كَمَا صَنَعَ عَلِيٌّ فَعَلْتُ
Translation
✧ I saw 'Ali urinate standing until it foamed, then he performed ablution and wiped over his sandals, then he entered the mosque and took off his sandals, placing them in his sleeve, then he prayed. Ma'mar said: If I wished, I could narrate that Zayd b. Aslam narrated to me from 'Ata' b. Yasar, from Ibn 'Abbas, that the Prophet ﷺ did as 'Ali did, and I would have done so.
