✧ Fasting on the Day of Arafah

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ،
أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى حَسَنًا وَحُسَيْنًا يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ، فَوَجَدَ أَحَدَهُمَا صَائِمًا وَالْآخَرَ مُفْطِرًا قَالَ: لَقَدْ جِئْتُ أَسْأَلُكُمَا عَنْ أَمْرٍ اخْتَلَفْتُمَا فِيهِ، فَقَالَا: " مَا اخْتَلَفْنَا، مَنْ صَامَ فَحَسَنٌ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَصُمْ فَلَا بَأْسَ
Translation
✧ A man came to Hasan and Husayn on the Day of Arafah and found one of them fasting and the other not fasting. He said: 'I came to ask you two about a matter in which you differ.' They said: 'We do not differ. Whoever fasts, it is good, and whoever does not fast, there is no harm.'
