✧ Fasting on the Day of Arafah

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:
دَعَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ إِلَى الطَّعَامِ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: لَا تَصُمْ، فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قُرِّبَ إِلَيْهِ حِلَابٌ فِيهِ لَبَنٌ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ فَشَرِبَ، فَلَا تَصُمْ فَإِنَّ النَّاسَ يَسْتَنُّونَ بِكُمْ
Translation
✧ Abdullah b. Abbas invited to food on the day of Arafah, and Abdullah said: 'Do not fast, for the Prophet ﷺ was brought a milking vessel containing milk on the day of Arafah and he drank. So do not fast, for people follow your example.'
