✧ Fasting on Friday

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ ظِبْيَانَ الْحَنَفِيِّ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ الْحَنَفِيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ:
مَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ مُتَطَوِّعًا مِنَ الشَّهْرِ أَيَّامًا يَصُومُهَا، فَلْيَكُنْ مِنْ صَوْمِهِ يَوْمُ الْخَمِيسِ، وَلَا يَتَعَمَّدْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، فَإِنَّهُ يَوْمُ عِيدٍ وَطَعَامٍ وَشَرَابٍ، فَيَجْتَمِعُ لَهُ يَوْمَانِ صَالِحَانِ، يَوْمُ صِيَامِهِ، وَيَوْمُ نُسُكِهِ مَعَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
Translation
✧ Whoever of you is voluntarily fasting some days of the month, let his fasting include Thursday, and let him not deliberately fast Friday, for it is a day of Eid, food, and drink. Thus two righteous days come together for him: his fasting day and his day of ritual with the Muslims.
