✧ Breaking a voluntary fast and fasting it if one did not intend it at night

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، أَحْسَبُهُ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا قَالَ:
هُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ إِلَى نِصْفِ النَّهَارِ مَا لَمْ يَطْعَمِ الطَّعَامَ، أَوْ يَكُونُ قَدْ فَرَضَهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ
Translation
✧ He has the choice until midday, as long as he has not eaten food, or unless he had made it obligatory at night.
