✧ Continuous fasting (Wisal)

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
لَا تُوَاصِلُوا قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ! فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ ؟ قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَمِثْلِكُمْ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي، وَيَسْقِينِي "، قَالَ: فَلَمْ يَنْتَهُوا عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فَوَاصَلَ بِهِمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَوْمَيْنِ وَلَيْلَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ رَأَوُا الْهِلَالَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " لَوْ تَأَخَّرَ الْهِلَالُ لَزِدْتُكُمْ، كَالْمُنَكِّلِ لَهُمْ
Translation
✧ Do not observe continuous fasting. They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, but you observe continuous fasting?' He said, 'I am not like you. I spend the night with my Lord feeding me and giving me drink.' He said, 'They did not refrain from continuous fasting, so the Prophet ﷺ continued fasting with them for two days and two nights. Then they saw the new moon, and the Prophet ﷺ said, 'If the new moon had been delayed, I would have increased for you,' as if rebuking them.
