✧ The Night of Decree

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، وَغَيْرِهِ، عَنْ بَعْضِهِمْ،
أَنَّ الْجُهَنِيَّ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي صَاحِبُ بَادِيَةٍ وَمَاشِيَةٍ فَأَوْصِنِي بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ، أَقُومُ فِيهَا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " أَوْ لَيْلَتَيْنِ ؟ " قَالَ: بَلْ لَيْلَةٌ فَدَعَاهُ فَسَارَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي أَحَدٌ مَا أَمَرَهُ، فَقَالَ النَّاسُ: انْظُرُوا اللَّيْلَةَ الَّتِي يَقُومُ فِيهَا الْجُهَنِيُّ فَكَانَ إِذَا كَانَ لَيْلَةُ ثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ نَزَلَ بِأَهْلِهِ، وَقَامَ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ
Translation
✧ Al-Juhani came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I am a man of the desert and livestock, so advise me about Laylat al-Qadr, in which I should stand in prayer.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Or two nights?' He said, 'Rather one night.' He called him and whispered to him, and no one knew what he commanded him. The people said, 'Watch the night on which Al-Juhani stands.' When it was the night of the twenty-third, he came down to his family and stood that night.
