✧ Delaying the Sahur

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ.... بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، مَوْلَى آلِ عَلِيٍّ،
أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ ثَقِيفَ قَدِمُوا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأَنْزَلَهُمْ بِالْمَقْبَرَةِ، وَذَلِكَ فِي رَمَضَانَ، فَأَرْسَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: بِسَحُورِهِمْ بَعْدَ أَذَانِ بِلَالٍ بَعْدَ طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ الْأَوَّلِ، وَأَسْفَرَ جِدًّا فَأَكَلُوا، وَأَكَلَ مَعَهُمْ بِلَالٌ، ثُمَّ صَامُوا جَمِيعًا، ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِمْ بِلَالٌ بِفِطْرِهِمْ حِينَ ظَنُّوا أَنَّهَا قَدْ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ، وَهُمْ يَشُكُّونَ فَأَفْطَرُوا، وَأَفْطَرَ مَعَهُمْ
Translation
✧ Some people from Thaqif came to the Prophet ﷺ, and he lodged them in the cemetery, and that was in Ramadan. The Prophet ﷺ sent them their pre-dawn meal after Bilal's adhan, after the first dawn had broken, and it became very bright, so they ate, and Bilal ate with them. Then they all fasted. Then Bilal was sent to them with their iftar when they thought the sun had set, while they were uncertain, so they broke their fast, and he broke his fast with them.
