✧ Hastening the breaking of the fast

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، أَوْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ:

إِنْ كُنْتُ لَآتِي ابْنَ عُمَرَ بِالْقَدَحِ عِنْدَ فِطْرِهِ فَأَسْتُرُهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ، وَمَا بِهِ إِلَّا الْحَيَاءُ " يَقُولُ: " مِنْ سُرْعَةِ مَا يُفْطِرُ "

Translation

✧ I used to bring Ibn ʿUmar a cup at his breaking of the fast and shield him from the people, and he had nothing but shyness—he says: from the speed with which he broke the fast.
