✧ The supplication upon sighting the crescent

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي رَجُلٌ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَخْبَرَهُ هُوَ بِنَفْسِهِ قَالَ:
بَيْنَا أَنَا أَسِيرُ رَأَيْتُ الْهِلَالَ، فَسَمِعْتُ قَائِلًا يَقُولُ - وَلَا أَرَاهُ -: اللَّهُمَّ أَطْلِعْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالسَّلَامَةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ، وَالْأَمْنِ وَالْإِيمَانِ، وَالْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى، وَالتَّوْفِيقِ لِمَا تُحِبُّ وَتَرْضَى، فَمَا زَالَ يُرَدِّدُهَا حَتَّى حَفِظَهَا
Translation
✧ While I was traveling, I saw the crescent moon and heard a speaker—whom I could not see—saying: “O Allah, bring it upon us with safety and Islam, security and faith, righteousness and piety, and success in what You love and are pleased with.” He kept repeating it until I memorized it.
