✧ The people become fasting and the crescent has been sighted

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ هُشَيْمِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بِشْرٍ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ أَبِي وَحْشِيَّةَ، أَنَّ أَبَا عُمَيْرِ بْنَ أَنَسٍ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُمُومَةٌ لِي مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالُوا:
أُغْمِيَ عَلَيْنَا هِلَالُ شَوَّالٍ فَأَصْبَحْنَا صِيَامًا، فَجَاءَ رَكْبٌ مِنْ آخِرِ النَّهَارِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَشَهِدُوا أَنَّهُمْ رَأَوُا الْهِلَالَ بِالْأَمْسِ فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ النَّاسَ أَنْ يُفْطِرُوا مِنْ يَوْمِهِمْ، وَأَنْ يَخْرُجُوا لِعِيدِهِمْ مِنَ الْغَدِ
Translation
✧ The crescent of Shawwal was obscured from us, so we began the day fasting. Then riders came to the Prophet ﷺ at the end of the day and testified that they had seen the crescent the day before. The Prophet ﷺ ordered the people to break their fast that day and to go out for their Eid the next day.
