✧ When is the child commanded to fast?

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، وَمَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ:
كَانَ أَبِي يَأْمُرُ الصِّبْيَانَ بِالصَّلَاةِ إِذَا عَقَلُوهَا، وَالصِّيَامِ إِذَا أَطَاقُوهُ
Translation
✧ My father used to command the children to pray when they understood it, and to fast when they were able to.
