✧ A Man Performing Ablution from a Vessel Left Overnight Uncovered

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ زِيَادٍ قَالَ:

إِذَا بَاتَ الْإِنَاءُ مَكْشُوفًا لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ غِطَاءٌ، بَصَقَ فِيهِ إِبْلِيسُ - أَوْ: تَفَلَ فِيهِ إِبْلِيسُ -، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِإِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ: أَوْ يَشْرَبُ مِنْهُ

Translation

✧ If a vessel is left overnight uncovered with no lid on it, Iblīs spits into it, or Iblīs expectorates into it. I mentioned that to Ibrāhīm and he said: Or he drinks from it.
