عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ
أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: - وَهِيَ تَذْكُرُ شَأْنَ خَيْبَرَ - " فَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَبْعَثُ ابْنَ رَوَاحَةَ إِلَى الْيَهُودِ، فَيَخْرُصُ النَّخْلَ حِينَ يَطِيبُ أَوَّلُ الثَّمَرِ، قَبْلَ أَنْ تُؤْكَلَ، ثُمَّ يُخَيِّرُ الْيَهُودَ بِأَنْ يَأْخُذُوهَا بِذَلِكَ الْخَرْصِ، أَوْ يَدْفَعُوهَا إِلَيْهِمْ بِذَلِكَ، وَإِنَّمَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَمَرَ بِذَلِكَ الْخَرْصِ، لِكَيْ تُحْصَى الزَّكَاةُ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُؤْكَلَ الثِّمَارُ وَتُفْتَرَقَ
Translation
✧ She said, while mentioning the affair of Khaybar: "The Prophet ﷺ used to send Ibn Rawāḥa to the Jews, and he would estimate the palms when the first fruit ripened, before it was eaten, then he would give the Jews the choice to take it according to that estimation or to hand it over to them accordingly. The Prophet ﷺ ordered that estimation only so that the zakāh could be calculated before the fruits were eaten and dispersed."
