Translation

✧ Wealth used to come to him, and he would not pay zakah on it until a year had passed over it, even if he spent all of it. He used to spend it on what was right and on need, and he used to say: 'There is no charity on wealth until a year has passed over it. When a year has passed over it, then on every two hundred dirhams five dirhams are due, and whatever is in excess is calculated accordingly.'
