Translation

✧ A man came to Ibn Umar and said: I have wealth; should I pay zakah on it? Ibn Umar said: "May the far one be debased!" They said: He is saying: I have wealth, so where should I put its zakah? He said: Why does he not say it like this: a lump of the lumps of Jahannam came to me, wearing a black cloak of dog's fur. Hand it over to your governors, even if they shred the flesh of dogs on their tables.
