✧ Sale of charity before it is taken in hand

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ:

سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: فَرِيضَةُ إِبِلٍ أَحْسُبُهَا عَلَى السَّاعِي وَأَعْقِلُهَا، أَشْتَرِيهَا ؟ قَالَ: " لَا بَارَكَ اللهُ فِيهَا، لَا تَشْتَرِي طُهْرَةَ مَالِكَ

Translation

✧ I asked Ibn ʿUmar, saying: “Suppose a camel due as zakat falls to the collector and I tie it up; may I buy it?” He said: “No, may Allah not bless it. Do not buy the purification of your wealth.”
