✧ The Prophet's ﷺ age and the age of some of his Companions

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ:
سَأَلْتُ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ: كَمْ أَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِمَكَّةَ ؟ قَالَ: " عَشْرَ سِنِينَ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: فَإِنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: بِضْعَ عَشْرَةَ قَالَ: كَذَبَ، إِنَّمَا أَخَذَهُ مِنْ قَوْلِ الشَّاعِرِ، قَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ: فَمَقَتُّ عُرْوَةَ حِينَ كَذَّبَهُ
Translation
✧ I asked ʿUrwah b. al-Zubayr: How long did the Prophet ﷺ stay in Makkah? He said, "Ten years." I said, "But Ibn ʿAbbās said, 'a few more than ten.'" He said, "He lied; he only took it from the poet's saying." ʿAmr b. Dīnār said: I disliked ʿUrwah when he called him a liar.
