Translation
✧ A man came to Abu al-Darda' and asked him about a verse, but he did not tell him. The man turned away saying: 'Indeed, those who conceal what We have sent down of clear signs and guidance...' Abu al-Darda' said: 'How will you be when you enter your grave and two black, blue-eyed angels are brought out to you, stepping on their hair and digging with their fangs? They will ask about Muhammad ﷺ. What kind of man will you be if you remain steadfast concerning him?' And he mentioned that they have an iron club that if the two weighty ones—or he said the people of Mina—were to gather against it, they could not bear it. 'How will you be when the bridge of Hell is placed? What kind of man will you be if you pass over it or are saved? And how will you be when there is no place on earth except where your foot stands, and no shade except the shade of the Throne of the Most Merciful? What kind of man will you be if you seek shade under it? Go away; by Allah, besides whom there is no deity, this is indeed the truth.'
