أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ:
مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِمَقْبَرَةٍ، أَوْ قَالَ: بِالْبَقِيعِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: السَّلَامُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الدِّيَارِ مَنْ فِيهَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، دَارِ قَوْمٍ مَيِّتِينَ، وَإِنَّا فِي آثَارِهِمْ - أَوْ قَالَ -: فِي آثَارِكُمْ لَلَاحِقُونَ
Translation
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a graveyard—or he said: by al-Baqiʿ—then he said: "Peace be upon the dwellers of these abodes, those among them who are Muslims; the abode of a people who have died, and we are in their footsteps—or he said: in your footsteps—soon to join them."
