✧ Patience, weeping, and wailing

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ:
ثَلَاثٌ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ: النِّيَاحَةُ، وَالطَّعَامُ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ، وَبَيْتُوتَةُ الْمَرْأَةِ عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْمَيِّتِ لَيْسَتْ مِنْهُمْ
Translation
✧ Three things are from the affair of the Jahiliyyah: wailing, providing food for the deceased, and a woman spending the night at the house of a deceased person when she is not one of them.
