✧ Those Who Said One Does Not Perform Ablution from What Fire Has Touched

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ التَّيْمِيُّ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ:
قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَتَعَشَّيْتُ مَعَ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَعِنْدَهُ ﷺ" data-href="/encyclopedia/rawi/p-22587" tabindex="0" role="link">نَفَرٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فِيهِمْ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ، فَحَضَرَتِ الْمَغْرِبُ فَقُمْتُ أَتَوَضَّأُ فَقَالُوا: مَا هَذِهِ الْعِرَاقِيَّةُ الَّتِي أَحْدَثْتَهَا، مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ تَتَوَضَّأُ ؟ فَصَلَّوُا الْمَغْرِبَ جَمِيعًا وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّئُوا
Translation
✧ I came to Madinah and had dinner with Abu Talhah before Maghrib, and with him were a group of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, among them Ubayy b. Ka'b. When Maghrib time came, I got up to perform ablution, so they said: 'What is this Iraqi practice you have introduced? You perform ablution from good foods?' Then they all prayed Maghrib and did not perform ablution.
