أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، وَابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي هِشَامُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ قَالَ:
قُتِلَ أَبِي يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: احْفِرُوا وَأَوْسِعُوا وَأَحْسِنُوا وَادْفِنُوا الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ فِي قَبْرٍ، وَقَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا، فَكَانَ أَبِي ثَالِثَ ثَلَاثَةٍ، وَكَانَ أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا فَقُدِّمَ
Translation
✧ My father was killed on the day of Uhud, and the Prophet ﷺ said: "Dig and make wide and make good, and bury two or three in a single grave, and put forward the one who knew more of the Quran." My father was the third of three and was the one who knew more of the Quran, so he was put forward.
