✧ Those Who Said One Does Not Perform Ablution from What Fire Has Touched

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ:

أُتِينَا بِجَفْنَةٍ وَنَحْنُ مَعَ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَوُضِعَتْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا وَأَكَلْنَا مَعَهُ، وَجَعَلَ يَدْعُو مَنْ مَرَّ بِهِ، ثُمَّ مَضَيْنَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَمَا زَادَ عَلَى أَنْ غَسَلَ أَطْرَافَ أَصَابِعِهِ وَمَضْمَضَ فَاهُ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى

Translation

✧ A large bowl was brought to us while we were with Ibn Mas'ud. He ordered it and it was placed in the road. He ate from it and we ate with him, and he began inviting whoever passed by. Then we proceeded to prayer, and he did no more than wash the tips of his fingers and rinse his mouth, then he prayed.
