✧ What is said when the deceased is lowered into the grave

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، وَعَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، قَالَا:

كَانَ يُقَالُ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ فِي الْقَبْرِ حِينَ يُدْلَى: " بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ، وَفِي سَبِيلِكَ، وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ رَسُولِكَ ﷺ، اللَّهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْهُ مِنْكَ بِقَبُولٍ حَسَنٍ، وَأَوْرِدْهُ إِلَى خَيْرِ مَرَدٍّ، اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَحْرِمْنَا أَجْرَهُ، وَلَا تَفْتِنَّا بَعْدَهُ

Translation

✧ It used to be said over the deceased in the grave when he was lowered: "In Your name, O Allah, and in Your path, and upon the faith of Your Messenger ﷺ. O Allah, accept him from You with a good acceptance and bring him to the best returning place. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward and do not test us after him."
