عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ،
أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ، كَانَ يَقُولُ عَلَى الْجِنَازَةِ: " اللَّهُمَّ عَبْدُكَ وَابْنُ عَبْدِكَ، أَحْيَيْتَهُ مَا شِئْتَ وَقَبَضْتَهُ حِينَ شِئْتَ وَتَبْعَثُهُ إِذَا شِئْتَ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَ زَاكِيًا فَزَكِّهِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ مُسِيئًا فَتَجَاوَزْ عَنْهُ، اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَحْرِمْنَا أَجْرَهُ، وَلَا تُضِلَّنَا بَعْدَهُ، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَانِنَا الَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِالْإِيمَانِ
Translation
✧ Zayd b. Thabit used to say over the funeral: 'O Allah, Your servant and the son of Your servant. You gave him life as long as You willed, and You took him when You willed, and You will raise him when You will. O Allah, if he was pure, then purify him further, and if he was sinful, then overlook his sins. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward and do not lead us astray after him. O Allah, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith.'
