✧ Recitation and supplication in the prayer over the deceased

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ

كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي الدُّعَاءِ لِلْمَيِّتِ: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا، وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا، وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا، وَغَائِبِنَا وَشَاهِدِنَا، اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَحْيَيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَأَحْيِهِ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ، وَمَنْ تَوَفَّيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفَّهُ عَلَى الْإِيمَانِ

Translation

✧ He used to say in supplication for the deceased: O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, our young and our old, our males and our females, our absent and our present. O Allah, whomever of us You keep alive, keep him alive upon Islam, and whomever of us You take, take him upon faith.
