✧ Standing when one sees a funeral

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ جِنَازَةً مَعَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ بِالْكُوفَةِ، فَرَأَى نَاسًا قِيَامًا يَنْتَظِرُونَ الْجِنَازَةَ أَنْ تُوضَعَ، فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهِمْ بِدِرَّةٍ مَعَهُ أَوْ سَوْطٍ اجْلِسُوا، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ جَلَسَ بَعْدَمَا كَانَ يَقُومُ
Translation
✧ That he attended a funeral with Ali b. Abi Talib in Kufa, and he saw people standing waiting for the funeral to be placed, so he gestured to them with a whip he had, or a stick: "Sit down, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat after he used to stand."
