عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي رَجُلٌ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ:
نص إضافيصَلَّى عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَجَعَلَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُ وَحَشَمَهُ بِالْوُضُوءِ، فَقَالَ أَبُو قِلَابَةَ: مَا هَذَا يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ؟ فَقَالَ: بَلَغَنِي فِيمَا أَحْسَبُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَتَوَضَّأُ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ قَالَ أَبُو قِلَابَةَ رُفِعَتْ إِلَيْكَ عَلَى غَيْرِ وَجْهِهَا، إِنَّمَا مُرَّ بِجِنَازَةٍ وَالنَّاسُ فِي أَسْوَاقِهِمْ فَجَعَلُوا يَتَّبِعُونَ الْجِنَازَةَ هَكَذَا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ، أَيْ لَا يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا إِلَّا مُتَوَضِّئٌ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ: لِمِثْلِ هَذَا كُنْتُ أُحِبُّ قُرْبَكَ مِنِّي
Translation
✧ Umar b. Abd al-Aziz prayed over a funeral and began ordering his family and entourage to perform wudu. Abu Qilaba said: What is this, O Commander of the Faithful? He said: It has reached me, I think from the Prophet ﷺ, that he said: The one who prays over a funeral should perform wudu. Abu Qilaba said: It was lifted to you on other than its proper face. A funeral passed by while people were in their markets, and they started following the funeral like this. The Prophet ﷺ said: Whoever prays over a funeral should perform wudu, meaning no one should pray over it except one with wudu. Umar said to him: For the like of this, I used to love your nearness to me.
