✧ Walking with the funeral

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ:
رُوحُ الْمَيِّتِ بِيَدِ الْمَلَكِ يَقُولُ: " اسْمَعْ مَا يُثْنَى عَلَيْكَ حِينَ يُغَسَّلُ وَحِينَ يُحْمَلُ، فَإِذَا دُفِنَ كَلَّمَتْهُ الْأَرْضُ "، وَقَالَتْ: " أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنِّي بَيْتُ الْغُرْبَةِ وَالْوَحْشَةِ وَالدُّودِ فَمَاذَا أَعْدَدْتَ لِي
Translation
✧ The soul of the deceased is in the hand of the angel, saying: 'Listen to what is said in your praise when you are washed and when you are carried. Then when you are buried, the earth speaks to you'—and it says: 'Do you not know that I am the house of estrangement, loneliness, and worms? So what have you prepared for me?'
